Historically, Katsunori-san's family kiln specialised in the production of 'tokkuri' - sake jugs. However, since 1995 he and his team of skilled craftspeople have turned their eye towards the design of other tableware.

Nestled amongst the mountainous region of Gifu prefecture, the kiln is charmingly unassuming. With a strong sense of history, the designers work to create contemporary products of an extremely high standard of quality. The showroom sits within a stand-alone, early 20th Century building that retains all the original fixtures and old world charm.

The kiln still produces 'tokkuri' that are some of the most thoughtful and simplistic designs available.

Slight irregularities in size, glaze and texture reflect the artisan nature of the product and are embraced.
